The Lost Garden for Museumnacht

We proudly revealed the installation we created for the Fatih Mosque to the public during Museumnacht 2019. This work talks about the relationship between the urban environment and nature, aiming for the positive effect that nature has on humans. 

We try to touch the first generation of Turkish migrants, who broke their strong connection with nature for their migration to Amsterdam. The work gives peace, reflects and generates memories. On the other hand, we try to let the last generation born and raised in the city of Amsterdam discover how strong their relationship is with nature. For this installation, we worked with vegetation that occurs in the Quran.

In this installation, the garden of the Fatih Mosque, which was once lost, takes shape once again in the experience of a natural ecosystem. For this installation, we worked with vegetation that occurs in the Quran such as the date palm, the olive tree and the Fig tree.
